Winning International Web Awards with Invest in Canada’s Drupal 8 Site

Invest in Canada is the Government of Canada’s organization that promotes and attracts foreign investment into Canada. It was originally a bureau in Global Affairs (former Department of Foreign Affairs, Trade and Development Canada), but was launched as its own agency in March 2018. Invest in Canada assists companies planning to invest in Canada or to expand their Canadian operations.

In mid-2018, Invest in Canada launched the new “Invest in Canada Hub”, a single-window concierge service to assist international investors as they navigate all of the advantages and incentives that Canada has to offer.

Drupal Bliss’ Impact: The organization secured the development services of Drupal Bliss because of their extensive knowledge of Drupal sites for the Government of Canada. The Drupal Bliss team created the site in Drupal 8 using the WET4.0 distribution, which is based on HTML 5.0/CSS 3.0/ JavaScript. As a Government of Canada site, the site was designed to comply with all of TBS’ web standards, including the Government of Canada’s Standards on Web Accessibility, Web Usability and Web Interoperability.

Result: The Invest in Canada hub was launched in the summer of 2018 with a large ministerial announcement inviting foreign investors to consider Canada as a strong investment location. The site was a hit and the traffic to the site grew quickly.
