The Office of the Commissioner of Official Languages supports the Commissioner of Official Languages in his mission as an agent of Parliament to ensure that the main objectives of the Official Languages Act are met.
Project summary: The organization had an old web site running on outdated technology. The information was difficult to find and the site often experienced glitches. OCOL decided to use the GC’s Drupal distribution for their site and therefore chose Drupal Bliss and team to craft the user experience and develop the site to comply with all of TBS’ web standards, including the Government of Canada’s Standards on Web Accessibility, Web Usability and Web Interoperability.
Drupal Bliss’ Impact: Drupal Bliss analyzed the as is state of the website to identify required functionalities and identify suitable modules to implement for the web application and decided to move forward with the configuration of Drupal 8 as the content management system (CMS). With detailed analyzing and mindful processes, the site was upgraded with the final testing of browsers, compatibility and validation testing using tools such as the W3C’s validation tools, SortSite, JAWS Screen Reader and CSE Validator.
Result: The new OCOL site is the pride of the Official Languages Commissioner. He has shared that many stakeholders have complimented him on the site’s ease of use and comprehensiveness.
