Moving OSFI to Drupal 10 and upgrading website with a brand new design

The Office of the Superintendent of Financial Institutions is an independent agency of the Government of Canada who  regulates and supervises more than 400 financial institutions and 1200 pension plans.

Project summary: The OSFI web site had become outdated, running on retired technology with only limited support available.Users often complained that they couldn’t find key information, and more critically, found the mandatory reporting function cumbersome.  At the same time, OSFI’s mandate was expanding, and the existing infrastructure could no longer meet the growing functional requirements. These challenges made it clear that OSFI needed a fully reconceived site.

DrupalBliss’ Impact: DrupalBliss reviewed, assessed and analyzed the client’s business requirements and needs and architected the solution with the Government of Canada’s Drupal 10 WxT distribution which is HTML 5.0/CSS 3.0/JavaScript based and compliant with government standards for web (Web Accessibility, Web Usability and Web Interoperability).  

Result: The new OSFI site was launched in January 2024 to immense fanfare from the financial industry. Comments from users included the site’s new, sleek look; the much-improved information architecture and the heightened functionality of the site.
